I bought this TV about a week and a half ago. While it has spectacular features, I have been disappointed with the picture quality in a couple of areas. Unfortunately, many programs, both HD & SD, appear grainy on the set, and this is definitely not due to user error. Even when I’m watching blu ray via my PS3 & HDMI. I’ve adjusted the picture characteristics several times over, and its still there.

    Odd.

Unless it requires a hard update…

@jagdiggarstoratuttar I have been doing some research on these sony tvs and I went into a Sony Center where they had a EX500 and EX700 side by side.

The 700 is LED, and the 500 is not. So therefor the 700 is thinner. But the biggest difference is the contrast. 700 has much darker black, and brigther white.

I’m gonna go with the EX700 when i get the money.

Seriously considering this TV. I might go with this at 40″ or the EX500, looking towards this though.

@SinJeeeah I’m not positive. For more tech specs, I would check SONY’s web site or contact their customer support center directly.
