AOC (Envision) L22W898 22″ LCD HDTV
Basically….this is the second of the same TV I purchased at Radio Shack. The first of the two had a very obvious dead pixel. After being told it would take either 1 week + for them to order a new one at the store, or 30 days to have them fix the tv; I held onto it a few more days debating what to do. They said I couldn’t exchange the tv, unless i brought the tv back, THEN they would order a new one to arrive, and they’d call me when that happened (which could have been 1-3 weeks). I didn’t want to be out all my money and have nothing to show. I returned it about 3 days ago when a friend of mine told me they had the TV’s in stock! (coincidentally only about 3 days after I was told it would take at LEAST a week for them to arrive) UGH! Frustration. So I exchanged it for a brand new one, I was SO HAPPY it had a clear picture, and no dead pixel. Was a bit fuzzy, but figured I could adjust the sharpness or something. However…. Then it just turned off on it’s own. I thought…okay….something isn’t plugged right or something. But after checking everything I realized I had yet ANOTHER defective TV!! Then I noticed it does this purple thing across the screen then the tv turns off and back on. At one point it turned all yellow and then turned off. I returned it today, and now I have to wait for my money to be credited to my credit card. They guy at Radio Shack said it could be 4-5 days before I get my money! Ugh. i’m never purchasing a TV of this brand, or from Radio Shack …

every time I would turn it on, it would turn off within 5 minutes. EVERY TIME. Having bought two of the same tv’s new from the store, and experiencing issues with them..I was starting to think it was on my end. But I’m perfectly satisfied now with my new tv…it’s a 32 inch Magnavox that I got for the same price of this AOC 22inch. If you’re looking for a TV….just shop around some.

I recommend it if you’re going to be hooking up a computer to it. It looked okay on my Xbox 360. It’s a good cheap end tv (assuming u get a working model that doesn’t die on you after your warranty ends. haha.)
Good luck.

This was the second AOC I bought that had a problem. I wasn’t trying to diss the brand at all. And no I wouldn’t be praising a tv based on the company that made it. I’ve purchased many non-big name brands and am perfectly satisfied. But buying two new tv’s that were both defective…yea…I had to return them, and said screw it. No more.

I have a AOC tv and I love it…I’m not being biased either BUT if this was a sony you bought and it had the same issues..You would be Praising their EXCELLENT customer care policy ..etc etc..
In conclusion LCD’s are just manufactured(not by hand) thousand apon thousand aday..no matter what brand you have You could always have a defective unit…That said I have this tv since dec..with out a single problem and i hope to have many many more years the same way *knocks on wood*
